About Anna
Short, sarcastic and unemployed, Anna Papachristos has dedicated her life to the world of writing. The accolades began in Miss Susan Jahnke’s first grade class, where Anna was awarded for having written the most Pinocchio stories of anyone in the class, and for writing the best story with Pinocchio’s Lucky Day, in which he found a four-leaf clover. However, Anna has yet to find her lucky four-leaf clover (in regard to the job market, that is).
Anna eventually moved on to create her own small newspapers (drawn on 3×5 sheets of notepad paper) chronicling the daily goings-on of Barney & Friends, as well as many others. It was not until her junior year of high school, at age 16, that she truly recognized her love for journalism, however. Ever since, Anna has been involved with various school and local publications, and hopes to soon get involved with one professionally! (For a peek at Anna’s pre-professional life, take a look at her résumé!)
In high school, Anna also took on a column her senior year entitled Stop & Smell the Roses. Having loved the style and concept so much, she attempted to recreate the experience all throughout college to no avail. (College newspapers only like you if you write controversial articles about “the walk of shame” and booze, or so it seems.) So, after graduating in 2009, Anna started up her own blog of the same name in order to carry on the tradition and display her writing talent in a world where “fresh meat” is simply tossed to the dogs. Perhaps you would like to Stop & Smell the Roses while you’re here?
And now, amidst a sea of cover letters and résumé submissions, Anna has embarked on a writing journey with the lovely Allison Floyd (and hopefully other future contributors) that chronicles the ups and downs of being unemployed and the struggles facing today’s newest generation of graduates.
